Independent Sales Representative
Business Development | 1099 Independent Contractor | Commission Only. You bring the customer. JPR handles the recruiting. You earn 20% of the collected recruiting revenue your accounts generate for the first 12 months.
The Opportunity
JPR is expanding its local client base throughout Punxsutawney, Jefferson County and the surrounding region. We are looking for an independent sales representative to introduce JPR to local employers, build relationships with hiring decision-makers and bring new recruiting clients into the business.
This is a true B2B sales opportunity and can be a strong fit for someone who wants to break into sales, learn how to sell a real business service and build income based directly on the business they generate. Prior recruiting experience is not required, and extensive sales experience is not required for the right person.
About JPR
JPR is a local direct-hire recruiting company. We help employers hire across industries including manufacturing, construction, skilled trades, energy, trucking and logistics, healthcare, automotive, office and administrative, accounting, sales, management and professional positions.
JPR handles the recruiting work: finding potential candidates, reaching out directly, screening interested people and introducing candidates the employer may want to interview. The employer decides who they interview and hire.
What You'll Be Selling
- Contingency Recruiting: 15% of first-year salary. For employers that want help filling a position and prefer to pay only when they hire someone JPR introduces. No upfront recruiting fee.
- Recruiting Subscription: ongoing monthly recruiting. 1 active search: $1,000/month. Up to 3: $2,000/month. Up to 5: $3,000/month. 6+: custom pricing. 12-month agreement. No placement fees on covered searches.
What You'll Do
- Introduce JPR to local employers through in-person visits, cold calls, networking and follow-up.
- Identify owners, HR leaders, managers and other people responsible for hiring.
- Learn what positions companies hire for and where they are having difficulty finding people.
- Explain JPR's recruiting services, pricing and the difference between contingency and subscription recruiting.
- Develop relationships with companies that may need recruiting now or in the future.
- Follow up with interested prospects and move qualified opportunities toward becoming clients.
- Schedule conversations with JPR when a prospect needs deeper recruiting or pricing support.
- Keep prospect notes and next steps organized in JPR's CRM and build your own book of JPR clients over time.
A Strong Opportunity for Someone Breaking Into Sales
Many entry-level sales roles expect you to arrive with experience. This one does not. JPR can teach you the service, pricing, common customer questions, prospecting approach and how to recognize a real opportunity.
What matters most is willingness: start conversations, walk into businesses, pick up the phone, hear no without taking it personally, follow up and improve with experience. You will build practical B2B sales skills in prospecting, discovery, objection handling, relationship building and closing.
Who Could Be a Good Fit
- Someone who wants to break into sales and build real B2B experience.
- Personable, self-motivated and comfortable talking to people they do not know.
- Able to handle rejection, work independently and follow up consistently.
- Local knowledge is helpful, but a willingness to learn the territory matters more.
- Could fit someone semi-retired, already self-employed, or looking for a flexible commission opportunity.
What JPR Provides
- An established recruiting business, brand, pricing and sales materials.
- Recruiting delivery, candidate sourcing and screening after the client signs.
- Prospect/company data where available, suggested geographic routes and CRM access.
- Support on larger or more complicated sales conversations.
- Contracts, client onboarding and recruiting fulfillment.
Compensation
20% of collected recruiting revenue from every new client you originate for the first 12 months.
There is no hourly wage or salary. Commission is uncapped and is paid only on revenue actually collected by JPR. Sales tax, refunds, credits, chargebacks and unpaid invoices are not commissionable.
Territory & Contractor Structure
The initial focus is approximately a 60-70 mile radius around Punxsutawney, including Jefferson County and surrounding communities.
This is a 1099 independent-contractor opportunity. The representative controls their own schedule and prospecting approach. JPR may provide prospect data, suggested routes and sales resources, but the contractor determines when and how they pursue opportunities.
Basic Requirements
- Professional communication skills and the ability to represent JPR accurately.
- Phone, basic computer access and reliable transportation if prospecting in person.
- Comfortable calling or visiting businesses and working independently.
If you want to learn sales, are willing to put yourself out there and like the idea of building income from the business you generate, JPR would like to talk.
This is a direct-hire position. JPR recruits for employers in Jefferson County and the surrounding counties. Questions? Call (814) 845-4341.
